Trowel Applied

Synthetic10-TR is two-part liquid that is troweled directly into the concrete surface during the final mechanical finishing phase. This process infuses high and low density polymers into the concrete which interlocks the vapor control coating within the cement paste. The coating replaces curing compounds, sealing compounds and is used as a stand alone vapor control treatment.

Synthetic10-TR will maintain the concretes natural appearance and may be sealed, coated and covered with a wide range of flooring systems. When the product is used with a specific concrete design, the Synthetic10-TR improves the concretes physical properties to restrict concrete originated water vapor emission rates for compliance with flooring tolerances.

Green Product

Green Product

Synthetic10-TR’s state of the art, waterborne chemistry compliments the green product movement. It is low-emitting, which reduces indoor air contaminants that are odorous and irritating and/or harmful to the comfort and well being of installers and occupants. Laboratory testing confirms the product is compliant for use in classroom, office spaces and remains formaldehyde free with no other CREL VOC components.

Synthetic10-TR offers applicators the opportunity to clean tools and equipment with water. Using a damp towel will remove the product from wood, metal, glass and adjacent surfaces. When the product cures, mechanical removal is required. Solvents and other chemicals are not effective in removing dried product after the product hardens.

  • • Cures, Seals and vapor proofs concrete at all grade levels
  • • Requires no shot blasting, sanding or grinding preparations
  • • Product is embedded within the top 1/8” - 1/4” of the concrete surface
  • • Directly compatible with a wide range of flooring systems
  • • Resistant to trade traffic and construction process
  • • Achieves a vapor compliant substrate for flooring systems
  • • Uses the industries most advanced two-component polymer technology
  • • Allows 100% treatment of concrete during pouring phase

PREPARATION

Synthetic10-TR is directly applied to freshly poured concrete and requires no preparation methods. Concrete must be ready for final mechanical finishing process.

Remove all water from under slab vapor barrier surface prior to pouring concrete. If a sand blotter layer is used, do not pre-dampen, soak or saturate prior to pouring concrete.

Protect sand layer from saturation before, during and prior to future concrete pours.

MIXING

Read all technical and mixing data prior to use. Mix product in a clean 15 gallon mixing drum using a low speed drill as directed by unit instructions. Mix only enough product that can be used within 120 minutes.

EQUIPMENT

  • • One (1) 15 gallon mixing drum with handles. Two (2) drums for pours over 5,000 square feet.
  • • One (1) clean mixing paddle and one (1) low speed mixing drill
  • • Two hundred foot of power cord
  • • Five (5) gallons of water for cleaning equipment
  • • Walk behind power trowel. Call to discuss ride machines.

APPLICATION

  • Pour and place concrete
  • Remove all concrete bleed water
  • When the final mechanical finishing process starts, apply 1 coat - not more than 200 square feet per gallon
  • Proper application will be a solid white Synthetic10-TR surface mixed into a cement like paste
  • Allow the surface to continue to dry for 4 hours (75 degrees), 8 hours at (55 degrees) before saw cutting starts
  • Protect from rain for a 48 hour period
  • Do not apply any type of curing and sealing products after the application of Synthetic10-TR
  • FOLLOW ON SITE TECHNICAL REPRESENTATIVES DIRECTIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS

MOISTURE TESTING

Apply concrete tests directly on the Synthetic10-TR surface, use a clean towel to remove dust and debris. Do not grind or sand the surface. Forward all test results to our technical department for review and warranty registration.

Do not proceed with flooring installation until the concrete has been tested for water vapor emission rates.

Synthetics International warrants Synthetic10-TR to be free from manufacture defects for a period of 15 years. Applications completed in accordance with published technical data and all technical recommendations, are warranted for the control of concrete originated water vapor emission rates. See official warranty for details.
